July … and some of August!
Well hello there!!
I was going to hold off until the end of August (as I’d normally do) but then I thought, oh what the heck ... I’ll say a wee hello mid-month (Shockerooni, Michelle Watt has a wild side! Ha ha)
I’m off to LA later this month so I thought I’d touch base now because I would imagine I’ll have a lot to fill you in on when I get back (In fact, that in itself will be a diary-overdose-session) Especially as I just might have a li’l TV networking to look forward to out there ... ok, ok, that’s all I’m saying!
Talking of which ... I’m happily sewing the ol’ telly seeds in the UK too. This girl’s on a mission let me tell you, and one or two of my “plate spinnings” are shaping up nicely ... (hopefully a little something on the cards for the autumn and another longer-term project that’s on-going) A big thank you to all the emails of support (tell the truth, has my Mum been secretly asking you to tell me that you’re missing me from Price Drop?!) Don’t forget my property series is currently on Sky TV, 5 days a week and a Sunday omnibus! But talking of Price and Bid, I can’t believe how many Price Droppers I’ve met since moving back home! My fellow Scots ... you certainly like a bargain .. and a major blether session ... usually when I’m pushing a trolley round the supermarket, ha ha)
Another thank you ... for the kind emails about my double page spread in the Sunday Mail. I was absolutely delighted with the coverage the newspaper gave. Laura, the journalist, is a fab girl and did such a great piece. With the article covering my new house and the fact that I’ve qualified as an interior designer, it was a really great launching pad! I’m going to try to get the article in electronic format when I get back from LA in fact, so that I can put it on the Media page. Talking of which, I have quite a few recent articles that I need to get on there (I know, I know, I’m totally slacking!!! I’ve been busy busy though ... honestly I have!)
I thought the Countdown article in The Sun was quite funny. Whilst I appreciate their support, the programme would need to be renamed “Count-on your calculator-down” before I’d be in line for the job. I know my limits!!
What else have I been up to??
Oh yes ... Paris! You’ll possibly have heard me talking about my friend’s daughter, Terri ?? (the cheerleader ??) Well, it was Terri’s 16th birthday and where better to have her celebrations ... than Paris?! I had an absolute ball from start to finish. 15 of us girls took Paris by storm and we loved every minute of it. Up the Eiffel Tower, sailing along the Seine, drinking the biggest cocktails you’ve ever seen in your life (mine non-alcky!), shopped til we dropped, singing in karaoke ... we did it all. A 16th birthday party to remember!
Well, it’s a busy week for me this week. Hosting an awards ceremony on Wednedsay and working on the prep in the run up to it, plus a meeting or two before I fly out. I’ll let you know how that all goes in my next diary.
Blimey, I’ve just realised the time and I’ve got friends coming up early tomorrow for lunch so I need to get some beauty sleep (and lots of it!!) Lots more li’l bits ticking away but I’ll go now and write more when I’m back from Los-beautiful-Angeles ...
Oh oh oh, before I finally go (!) can’t go without telling you this .... I am delighted, in fact I’m honoured to have been asked to be an ambassador of The Princes Trust! I am so looking forward to working with the charity, I really am. Needless to say, I’ll keep you posted on how it all goes.
Ok, I’m definitely away this time ...
Take care,
M x
