Mar/Apr 2008

Well hello there!

Finally, I hear you say ...

Sorry I’ve not done the ol’ diary page these last couple of weeks but there’s never a dull moment in Sunny Scotland let me tell you. Now that I’m home, the days, nights, weeks and months are easily filled and there’s always something going on!

Filming commitments, TV meetings, movie premieres, interior design work, openings, programme ideas, awards events, charity events, newspaper interviews ... I think it’s safe to say that March and April have been pretty full grin And to think that’s only ‘works matters’ .... then there’s that small thing ...  of having a life!

I love being home, I really do. In amongst the craziness, when things eventually do quieten down, it gives me lots of time to spend with family and friends.

The house is really coming on now, in fact, it’s about 95% finished. Although, let’s face it, it will only ever be 99% done, cos an interior designer is always “at work” and changing something. Hold on, let me rephrase that ... more like “a woman is always at work and changing things” ... never mind designer! It’s what we do, huh girls??

So, anyway, how the devil are you? Thank you for all the emails, keeping in touch. As you will know from my responses, everything has been going really well in the world of watt.

Did some more work with MFI (yes, the Christmas campaign still lives on .... to think it was supposed to be Christmas 2007 ... not Summer 2008! Not complaining of course) Just tying a little something else up on that front so we’ll see how that all goes ...

I’m back down to London in a week or two for work matters which is always nice ... and lotsa plenty happening up here too!

The film premiere was great! It was for the movie 10,000BC. Have you seen it yet? The actual premiere party was really good ... and it’s always nice to get invited to these things and do a little bit of hob nobbing with those and such as those. No major gossip from on the night, just a good fun night had by all.

I’ve been chatting to both STV and BBC about a couple of things and there’s talk of a recommission on a little something else, but, as always, with the turmoil of telly, things can always change so I’m happily riding the rollercoaster and having fun along the way.

And I can’t believe how many Price Drop fans I’ve met over these last few weeks! To think I’ve been chatting to you through a camera lens these past few years, it’s been great to meet so many of you in person! A special mention to Morag in Stirling. Who would have thought that after the hundreds (if not thousands) you’ve spent with me when I’ve been on air, that I’d bump in to you and your hubby in Morrison’s car park! Now you know the secret glamorous lifestyle I lead Morag! Ha ha.

Lots of other bits and bobs been happening over March and April. So many events that I’ve actually had to decline some invitations. Not enough days in the week (or outfits in the shops, more like!) I think my hubby was secretly happy that I couldn’t attend the Mr Scotland event ... can you believe I had committed myself previously to another event?! Ahh, you know I’m joking, it’s Mr Whole Entire World that I married grin Watt a wee crawler eh?

I’ve been working with my Editor on my new showreel too. It’s taking a bit longer than I had hoped but we’re getting there. Making progress as they say. Hopefully it will be worth the wait. Also hoping to make some website changes in the coming weeks with regards to pictures and footage etc.

Oh I need to tell you a laugh ... Paul was off work for a week and we had promised the girls (that’s my two little nieces) that we’d take them out for the day and that they could choose absolutely anything that they wanted to do.

And what did they choose????

FISHING!!

I mean, c’mon, Michelle Watt in wellies???

But, true to our word, off we went with our nets (and our determination!) All kidding aside, we had a great wee day. Quality time with our ready-made pretend family (and no, it didn’t make me clucky thank you very much!) The girls had an absolute ball, as did we. It’s great when you can have a wee day where you forget about your age (as opposed to my usual LYING about my age, ha ha)

Did I tell you about the store opening?? I don’t think I did ... it was for Hugo Boss in Glasgow. Another great wee night to add to the collection! And, low and behold, I was invited on the night to the up and coming Johnnie Walker Cup at Gleneagles which I’m really excited about! It’s always nice when one event leads to another! It’s not ‘til August right enough but definitely something to look forward to. Especially as its full VIP treatment from Rolex for the day (Shh, I’ll be wearing my Ebel) and some stunning albeit ‘borrowed’ jewellery from Mappin & Webb. I’m a lucky gal and fine well I know it.

Mmm, what else have I been up to? Oh the Woman of Influence lunch was a great wee day. I say a great wee day ... it might start as a lunch but when the influential women of Scotland get together ... it goes from a great wee day to a great wee night. Us girls know how to let our hair down. The afterparty was great fun (apart from when a champagne bottle was accidentally smashed and actually cut my blinking leg! Ok, so it was the tiniest cut you’ve ever seen in your life but hey, a cut nonetheless) Hold the flowers and cards ... I’ll soldier on!

Lots of other charity events, dinners, parties etc. We’re a real quiet bunch here in Scotland, I know!

I’m looking forward to May as there’s lots of little bits happening. I’m particularly excited about the Sex And The City launch party in Glasgow, that should be fun (can’t wait ‘til the movie comes out into the cinema) And then there’s the Daily Record Our Heroes Awards night ... I’ll fill you in on that one in next month’s diary, and let you know who was all there (and, of course, if there’s any goss ... well, safe goss that is!)

Oh and I’ve got a rather large Scottish newspaper coming out to my house to do a double page feature so I’ll keep you posted on that one.

Hope you’re enjoying the property series on Sky. The Exec Producer emailed me to say that the show has consistently been their highest viewing figures across the entire channel. I can’t tell you how delighted I was to hear that! Mmm, there definitely needs to be a series two and I think it needs to be filmed in the Bahamas! grin Yip, that’s definitely going in the suggestions box!

Have a great month and I’ll see you at the end of it ....

Best wishes as always,

Michelle -x-
