May and June 2008

Hey there! How’s things?

Just saying my usual wee hello. I’m off to my mother in law’s for Sunday dinner shortly so I thought I’d try to get some of my diary written before my hubby heads home from work to pick me up! Her dinners are amazing ... Oh how I love a Sunday!

All good with me. Been out and about with lots of different little work bits. Daily Record Our Heroes Awards was a great night ... you might have seen the picture of me and Amy MacDonald on my gallery already. It was a celeb packed night with actors, actresses, footballers and presenters. And, more importantly, the heroic people who were being awarded. All very humbling I have to say.

Oh and I had my “kats” overnight. You might have heard me talking about the Kool Kats when I’ve been chatting to you on Price Drop. Well, they all stayed overnight with me and I swear, my stomach was sore the next day with laughing so much (let’s just say I couldn’t possibly show you the pictures! Ha ha) They’re a great bunch of girls and we always have a ball when the seven of us get together. In fact, Wild Kat as she’s known, has already suggested that our Christmas night be back up at Glam Kat’s (ie., mine) for another overnight pyjama party! Ha ha. And we’re going to hang stockings all along the roaring fireplace and everything! (Christmas stockings that is ... no suspenders in sight!)

Did I tell you the Sunday Mail have asked to do an “At Home with Michelle” feature? Well, the photographer has been out and done lots (and I mean LOTS) of pictures. In, fact, I need to tell you a laugh ... the photographer arrived as planned and, after a nice wee catch-up chat (Victoria’s done a few of my shoots) we started with the pictures. Three hours we were snapping away! It might have been a home piece but I still had to do lots of smiley smiley pictures so my face was sore by the end! In fact, she had done all upstairs and we were doing downstairs when she suddenly looked down at her camera and said “oh no” ... thinking it had broken or something I was like “oh crikey, what’s happened?” She was like ... “I’ve filled a disc” .... and I was like “EH?!” She said, “I’ve filled a disc, I’ve taken 460 pictures”!!! Holy smoke! But hey, that didn’t stop us, she popped in a new disc and off we went, snapping some more!

I’m really looking forward to seeing the piece. I’ve been told it’s going to be in the Sunday Mail on 27th July so hopefully they choose some nice pics (from the 500-plus shots they’ve got!!!!)

And I have to ask you ... have you seen the Sex and the City Movie?!! Isn’t it just fantastic?! I absolutely loved it! I went with my friends Liz and June and we had an absolute ball. Talking of Liz and June, not only am I a “kool kat” as per above ... but Liz has named the three of us “Charlie’s Angels” ... I know what you’re thinking ... what age am I?! If I’m not a kat, I’m an angel. And its tiring work all these aliases you know! They call me Lucy Lu (or LuLu for short) so between Glam Kat and LuLu, my full Sunday title Michelle Watt is very under-used.

And while I’m on the topic of friends ... something else you might know from me talking on Price Drop ... my friend Karen’s daughter Terri is a member of JC PomPoms cheerleading squad, and ... I finally managed to make it along to a competition!! What a fabulous day - and sooo competitive! The girls really do live and breathe it. The comp was in Dundee and is one of the biggest in the land. People travel from all over the UK to compete so it was great to be there and soak up the atmosphere. I was tempted to get up on the stage but you know how shy I am ... yeah right! In fact, you might have noticed my new showreel is now on my website and the little clip of me doing the cheerleading in Club Cupid’s show 10, I’m wearing some of Terri’s gear! This here girl knows how to shake her pompoms let me tell you!

Interior Design stuff going well too. And I’m making progress on the design show front. But hey, we shall see.

I had a ball on 60 Minute Makeover a couple of weeks back. I’m totally amazed how hard the team work to pull the makeover off in 60 minutes. And how funny, the show that I go along to turns out to be a Price Drop fan! So a big hello to Marilyn who was so lovely (and was showing me some of her fabby Price Drop and Bid TV buys!)

I was hoping to fly out to LA with Paul on 4th August but I’ve just had another job offer so I might have to change my plans! A good complaint of course… but I’ll keep you posted on all that.

Ooh, more to write, but that’s Paul just pulling in to the driveway so I’ll dash just now and write more soon ...

PS - hosting another event in July so I’ll let you know how that goes in my next installment.

Until then ... M x
